Biography

Seth earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Kansas. He received a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Emporia State University and is a Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist (LMLP). He has worked with individuals who have displayed problematic sexual behaviors since 2002 and his career has included work in correctional facilities and outpatient settings. In 2021, he co-founded Counterpoise Wellness, a private practice in the Kansas City area. Seth conducts forensic evaluations, provides outpatient therapy for individuals who have displayed problematic sexual behavior, and often serves as an expert witness. Seth routinely presents at state and international conferences. He is a Fellow of the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA) and serves as Chair of the ATSA Public Policy Committee. Seth is a contributor and moderator for Safer Society. He has served as an adjunct professor at several universities and taught courses in the areas of forensic psychology, abnormal behavior, and assessment. In his spare time, Seth enjoys hiking and traveling with his wife and their four teenage children. They often make the 25-minute drive from their Shawnee home to Allen Fieldhouse to watch a KU basketball game. A lifelong Jayhawk, Seth is excited to join the faculty at the University of Kansas. He hopes students learn how exciting a career in forensic psychology can be. Seth seeks to inspire a new generation of Jayhawks and is eager to be back on The Hill. Rock Chalk!
