Criminal Justice: Academic Information

This criminal justice bachelor’s degree completion programs examine the different ideas of justice. The curriculum focuses on understanding the impact the justice system has on individuals and communities through law enforcement, the courts, and corrections.

Students will examine the historical context that shaped current agencies and institutions, and engage in timely topics like constitutional rights, racial and social justice issues, collaboration with tribal nations, alternatives to incarceration, intelligence, ethical decision making, critical communication, criminal procedure, and the use of data-driven and evidence-based practices.

This program integrates significant interaction with industry professionals via career and networking days, criminal justice speaker series, “lived experience presentations,” and opportunities outside the classroom like internships, field work, research projects, and for-credit study abroad.

The curriculum also includes a three-hour capstone project, consisting of preparing a resume and template cover letter, six practice job interviews, and options for either undergraduate research or in-industry projects.
