The KU School of Professional Studies degree, degree-completion, and certificate programs offered in multiple disciplines, course formats, and class schedules serve the needs of traditional undergraduate and adult learners who are working professionals seeking to advance their careers, have considerable commitments outside of the classroom, prior college experience, or need a different approach to achieve their educational goals.

American Sign Language and Deaf Studies
The American Sign Language (ASL)/Deaf Studies degree and certificate programs provide students with the educational foundation and skills they need to serve the Deaf community, as well as the coursework required to prepare them for certification exams to become registered sign language interpreters. ASL/Deaf studies are available on-campus in Overland Park, Kansas.

Applied Biological Sciences
Prepare for a career in health care or put yourself on a pre-med or pre-health path. The KU degree-completion program in Applied Biological Science balances classroom and lab-based learning. Graduates work in laboratories, clinical care, healthcare administration, and healthcare research. The primary course format and location is in-person in Overland Park, Kansas.

Biotechnology
Where health care and technology intersect is the field of biotechnology. The School of Professional Studies offers a degree-completion undergraduate program as well as and a minor, incorporating both classroom and lab-based learning. The primary course format and location is in-person in Overland Park, Kansas.

Criminal Justice
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees in Criminal Justice, include a 12-hour concentration in Law Enforcement Leadership or Law and Society. Graduates with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice will be well-positioned to work in law enforcement, court administration, policy analysis, law, security, and intelligence. An undergraduate minor in criminal justice is also available. Criminal justice studies are available on-campus in Lawrence and online.

Health Sciences
The Bachelor of Health Sciences degree-completion programs prepare students to work in non-clinical health care careers in public and population health, nutrition, health care administration, research, and other allied health care occupations. Five minors within the health sciences program include nutrition, health policy and management, public and population health, environmental studies, and clinical trials management. Health sciences courses are all 100% online.

Information Technology
The undergraduate degree completion and graduate information technology degrees and certificate programs offer flexible formats for working professionals who are seeking to establish or advance their careers in this field. We offer two minors, two IT bachelor’s degrees, a master’s in IT, and a bachelor of professional studies (BPS) degree with a concentration in cybersecurity. Graduate certificates offered within the information technology academic program include cybersecurity, and software engineering and management. Programs are available online and some courses are available on-campus.
