Health Sciences: Academic Information
KU health sciences degree completion programs include two bachelor's degrees. With five minors available, KU undergraduate students majoring in other fields may also tailor their degree to align with their specific career interests.
The immersive coursework within the health sciences bachelor's degree completion program includes scientific and health communications, medical terminology, health policy, microbiology, and introduction to public health as well as required career exploration and career readiness courses.
The career exploration and career preparation courses are designed to serve as bookends to one another. The exploration course, taken in the first semester, gives students an overview of career options, while the career readiness course taken during the final semester prepares students to enter the workforce.
Students who select the bachelor of professional studies with a concentration in health policy and management degree completion program will pair elective and concentration coursework and also complete a capstone project.
Instructors from a diverse roster of faculty members include university professors, medical researchers, and working professionals in hospital and clinical settings as well as the corporate sector.
