Health Sciences: Academics

 

The KU health sciences degree offers five minors, allowing undergraduate students to tailor their degree to align with their specific career interests.

The immersive coursework within the health sciences bachelor's degree includes scientific and health communications, medical terminology, health policy, microbiology, and introduction to public health as well as required career exploration and career readiness courses.

The career exploration and career preparation courses are designed to serve as bookends to one another. The exploration course, taken in the first semester, gives students an overview of career options, while the career readiness course, taken during the final semester, prepares students to enter the workforce.

Instructors from a diverse roster of faculty members include university professors, medical researchers, and working professionals in hospital and clinical settings, as well as the corporate sector.
