Operations management equips students with skills to manage and optimize business processes. By understanding supply chain management, innovation, logistics, quality control, and customer relations, graduates will be able to efficiently transform resources into goods and services.
This Bachelor of Applied Science in Operations Management degree-completion program emphasizes strategic decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership and fosters adaptability to technological advancements and market changes.
The program addresses a growing need for operations managers and prepares students to develop, improve, and manage the processes used to produce and transport products and services.
It explores the technical and strategic aspects of producing goods and services while providing students with the foundational operations management skills necessary to become a successful business leader.
Courses focus on topics such as enterprise strategy and innovation, foundations of project management, project scheduling and controls, statistics, leadership, and the ethical issues a leader might face in operations management.
In addition to the bachelor’s degree, KU offers a minor in operations management which requires 15 hours of the foundational skills courses and one elective option. Students can pair the operations management degree or minor with other School of Professional Studies’ degree completion programs to gain additional expertise in project management, information technology, or public administration.
