HOPE Academics

Curriculum

The Master of Science in Human and Organization Performance Effectiveness (HOPE) degree provides a broad foundation of theory in critical thinking, communication, leadership, and ethics while incorporating focused, relevant coursework. Required courses cover topics such as human motivation and incentive systems, managing public organizations, and innovation and organizational change. Electives options include corporate training, talent development, and performance audit.

Students will delve into industry best practices and case studies. They will also have the option to base their explorations on their own organizations, which has the potential to produce valuable analysis and learning directly beneficial in their current roles.

The program culminates in a capstone project where students actively engage with an organization to facilitate a process of assessing and addressing an organizational alignment issue.

The graduate certificate introduces students to the organizational performance effectiveness model through two foundation courses and allows them to choose three additional courses that align with what they most want to learn or what will best support their career progression. Students can focus their electives on individual performance or organizational strategy, systems, and processes. Throughout the program, they will have the opportunity to apply their own work experience to demonstrate competence, making learning immediately relevant to real-world responsibilities.
