Biography

Kim Garland Forensic Interview Specialist SAC Kansas City Kim have been Forensic Interview Specialist with Homeland Security Investigation since 2019. From 2011 to 2019, she worked as a forensic interviewer and program manager with the Child Advocacy Center in Springfield, Missouri, and their satellite location in West Plains. During that time, Kim also taught Child Forensic Psychology for several semesters at Missouri State University in Springfield. She served on the faculty for ChildFirst Missouri for three years during her time in Springfield. Kim also worked as a forensic interviewer at Rainbow House Child Advocacy Center for eight years. She has conducted over 3,700 forensic interviews of children and adults. She has a master’s degree in forensic psychology from Argosy University and bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri with minors in psychology sociology, and human development.  

Kim co-presented at the Missouri State Bar Association’s yearly conference, where over a hundred attorneys were educated regarding understanding the reliability indicators in children’s statements of abuse. In 2014, Kim joined several other interviewers across the state, training and educating professionals in the field. In 2015, she taught Child Forensic Psychology at Missouri State University, for graduate students entering the field of child protection.
