Biography —
Alex Terwilliger is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Human and Organizational Performance Effectiveness (HOPE) degree program at the University of Kansas. He brings more than fifteen years of experience in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and higher education, with roles at KU, Northern Arizona University, Metropolitan Community College, and Coconino Community College. Throughout his career, he has taught and coordinated over 35 academic course sections and delivered more than 40 professional development programs in strategic planning, continuous improvement, leadership, and organizational systems. Alex also designed the eight core competencies that anchor the HOPE curriculum, ensuring students build skills they can use immediately in real workplaces. Before joining the HOPE faculty, he served as Associate Director of the KU Public Management Center, where he led major strategic initiatives, expanded national partnerships, and supported agencies across the country in organizational development efforts. As a practitioner-scholar, he brings real consulting experience into the classroom.
