Biography —
Bella Rainey, M.A. is an Associate Professor of the Practice at the University of Kansas. She completed her Master of Arts in Art and Design: Project Management at Lindenwood University. She also completed her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lindenwood University. She is currently pursuing an EdS at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Curriciulum and Instruction.
Bella’s graduate research included concepts about productivity for creative careers, equitable project management tools, and neurodivergency in creative fields. Her other research interests and publications include influencer management, social media strategy, and teaching Gen Z.
Bella Rainey has over 7 years of experience in advertising, strategic communications, and writing. Previous roles include KCtoday, 6AM City, Washington University-St. Louis Medical School, St. Louis Ambush, and The Relish Jar. Now, Bella stays involved in the local KC industry as a freelancer for The Pitch KC, a Judge Coordinator for Missouri High School DECA, and the Student Liaison Lead for the KC Ad Club Board of Directors. Bella also creates content on social media and works with brands like Anthropologie, Nuuly, Olipop, and more.
Bella previously served as an Instructor at Avila University in the School of Visual and Communication Arts. Here, she also served as the 18-time State Champion DECA team’s Advisor, an Instructional Designer for the MA in Luxury Brand Management, and a member of the Committee for Instructional Excellence.
She is also a proud member of Delta Zeta Sorority and maintains involvement in the organization as the Panhellenic Advisor for the Xi Phi chapter at UMKC. In 2025, Bella was named to Delta Zeta’s “35 Under 35” award for being an accomplished young professional.
