Biography —
John Iverson, Professor of the Practice, Project Management John Iverson is a seasoned professional with over 30 years in manufacturing, services, and information technology. As a Senior Director at General Dynamics, he led such initiatives as a $500M divestiture, establishing a FedRAMP cloud service, planning the future of work, and initiating an internal data and artificial intelligence practice within an organization of 28,000 employees. Throughout his career, he has been regularly called upon to make something happen or to make situations better - improving relationships, processes, and technology. A specific highlight from his professional career was consulting at the National Human Trafficking Resource Center to help them make more efficient use of grant money to fight human trafficking.
Mr. Iverson has been a PMI certified PMP for 20 years and has also achieved status as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Villanova), Certified Data Management Professional - Master Level (DAMA), Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ), Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (ASQ), Data Science Professional (IBM), and ITIL intermediate (Axelos). He has also served in organizational leadership roles for both PMI and ASQ. Locally, he taught PMP preparation for 15 years.
Mr. Iverson is relatively new to academia but has been a classroom teacher since he was 17, using study hall periods to teach algebra and other math. He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and a master's in engineering management, both from Missouri University of Science & Technology.
