Biography

Ruth Yorke is a U.S. Probation Officer in the District of Kansas, where she has been working since 2007. She has worked as a presentence investigator, supervised a specialized caseload of pretrial and post-conviction sex offenders and cyber criminals and is now a supervisor of the investigation unit. She helped create national policy and procedures for the 94 Judicial districts as a member of the National Cybercrime Working Group. Throughout her career she has developed and trained federal and state officers in cybercrime and sex offender related topics, lectured at the Missouri Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) conference, spoke at local schools, churches, and community groups, and has guest lectured at universities. 


Ruth received a double B.A. in sociology and crime and delinquency studies from the University of Kansas and went on to receive a master’s in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Prior to her appointment with the U.S. Probation Office, Ruth worked with the U.S. Probation Office for the District of Nebraska and worked for the both the states of Kansas and Nebraska in the community corrections field.
