Zak Carr

Zak Carr PhD is a forensic science professional with more than 20 years of experience in criminal forensic investigations, firearms and toolmark examination, laboratory leadership, and forensic technology. His work includes extensive collaboration with law enforcement agencies throughout the United States and internationally to implement the latest generation of 3D analytical technology for firearm and toolmark analysis. Zak brings extensive real-world experience into the classroom, helping students connect criminal justice concepts with their practical application in investigations. Dr. Carr is passionate about teaching and takes a student-focused approach that emphasizes engagement and preparing students for successful careers in the criminal justice field. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas, and a PhD in Forensic Science from Oklahoma State University.
